Reseña o resumen
This CD-ROM provides you with a thorough guide to both acute and chronic overuse injuries of the knee. The acute injuries section includes topics such as ligament injuries, meniscal tears, chondral defects, and patellar instability. The overuse injuries section details common and less common conditions associated with anterior, posterior, medial, and lateral knee pain. These include patellar tendinitis, patellofemoral pain syndrome, ITB friction syndrome, and meniscal pathology.
Every topic explores the etiology, clinical features, diagnosis, and management of the condition. In addition, there are sections on mechanisms of injury, clinical testing, biomechanics, and rehabilitation.
The text is supported by a broad range of video and slide material including relevant pathology, ligament tests, surgical treatment, conservative management, and rehabilitation back to sport.
3D animation is used to demonstrate injury mechanisms and biomechanics of the knee. Observe the functional anatomy of the knee ligaments, the stabilizing role of the cruciate ligaments as they move during flexion/extension, and the tracking of the patella during tibiofemoral joint motion.
